Davidisms - Each Child, Each Year

Here is a parenting tip that my wife Marilynn and I learned and practiced with our three kids: Each child, each year.
 
 Here’s what it means.
 
 At the end of each school year, we’d evaluate together each child’s individual needs, weaknesses, and strengths. Then we would make a decision as to the best way to advance him or her for the Lord (Prov. 22:6). What kind of teacher they would need. What school would best meet those needs.
 
 Each of our three children had different needs personally and educationally. Because of these differences, each one took a different, unique path toward adulthood.
 
 Over time, we knew each child well enough - their giftings, personality and bent - that we were able to make wise decisions for them.
 
 Amid our cultural craziness, perhaps what Marilynn and I learned will help you with your children: each child, each year.
 
 It worked well for us. I hope it helps you as parents as well.
