Love Never Fails

What is love?

We’ve spent the last two weeks giving ourselves a biblical “love test” by examining the words and phrases used to describe “love” as written in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.

After the sole biblical definition of love, it is written: “Love never fails” (1 Corinthians 13:8).

How is it possible for love to never fail?  Think about the impact and significance of this truth.  Never means never!  Nothing on earth can ever cause love to fail.  That’s the power of love.

Love is the strongest force in the universe because God is love.  The Bible is the ultimate love

story.  It chronicles the great love of a Father for His children, culminating in the death of His Son on the cross – the greatest act of love in human history.

Sometimes we’re faced with situations that feel hopeless.  Loveless.  It seems as if we’ve exhausted all options, and everything we’ve tried has failed.

We must remember to “try” love.  To truly embody love.  To love others in the mighty fullness of agape love: “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogantor rude.  It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.  Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things” (1 Corinthians 13:4-7).

Love others as Christ has loved you.  Forgive as he has forgiven you (Ephesians 4:32).  Leave vengeance to God (Romans 12:19).  Never give up on people.  Never lose hope in how God can change a life.

Instead, be encouraged.  Why?  Because love never fails.  Never!

Do you believe this?
