My Personal God - My Hiding Place

The eternal God of the universe wants to be your close, personal friend. He longs to be your portion. Your light. Your salvation.

If you know your Daddy in heaven as your personal God, He becomes your hiding place (Psalm 119:114). The One into whose arms you run when your world is shaken. When tragedy hits. When hard times seem insurmountable.

The children’s game “hide and seek” illustrates this point well. If you’re playing the game, you don’t want anyone to find you. But that’s exactly what God wants to do. To seek you and find you. To invite you into His family with open arms. To love you forever.

Jesus came to seek and save what was lost (Luke 19:10). Jesus’s grace pursues us. When our flesh wants to hide in our sinfulness, our Daddy seeks to find us. He covers us with His grace, and afterwards we seek to hide in Him.

When God is our hiding place, our lives become engulfed in His presence. We are hidden in Christ (Colossians 3:3), His love surrounding us on all sides. Nothing on earth can penetrate His protection. We live in his protective bubble.

Do you seek a loving Daddy whose arms you can safely hide in? Say to Him: “Lord, you are mine. You are my hiding place. Where I can go in times of trouble. Your steadfast protection keeps me safe from things both seen and unseen. You are my personal God.”

Quit running! Let the Lord find you.

Your personal God will forever be your hiding place.
