Hope  Little  Kids

This week’s Bible story starts with an army, God’s army. And they were led by a man named JoshuaGod gave Rahab the courage to help the spies and keep them safe. God was with Rahab, and He’s always with us, too!

Who is always with you? God is always with me.

Make it personal by playing “I Spy” with your Little Kid. Select something in the room that your Little Kid can easily see and call it out by color. After you play the game, remind your LK that God is always with us, just like He was with Joshua, the spies, and Rahab. Knowing God was with them gave them the courage to do the right thing. And knowing God is always with us gives us the courage to do the right thing, too.

    Hi Parents!

In our Bible story this week, we are continuing with Nehemiah because it gives us such a great example of initiative. Nehemiah and the people could have felt overwhelmed by all the work they had to do in Jerusalem and by the challenges they had to face, especially when they had to deal with Sanballat and Tobiah trying to distract them. But they didn’t back down. They stayed focused on the job they had to do.

When we see something that needs to be done, we can take the initiative to do it. Stay focused on what needs to be done.

Make it personal with your Big Kid by answering this question together: what can you learn from Nehemiah’s example that will help you avoid letting distractions get the best of you?

And remind your Big Kid that their relationship with Jesus is one of the most important things to focus on. Learning what they can from the Bible, spending time talking to God, and focusing on loving God and others are often the places we get distracted from the most.
