Davidisms: Before You Call, I'll Answer

Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?” (Job 38:4). God asks Job this pointed question to remind Job that he, God, - the Creator of the universe - is sovereign over everything within the universe. Including Job’s life.

It’s a good reminder for us as well.

God knew Job’s heart as well as his needs. And God knows your needs too. Every detail of your life, God knows. He must. He’s God! Therefore, even before you pray, God knows what you need and how to answer your prayers.

Before you call, I will answer” (Isaiah 65:24). It’s a promise the Lord spoke over Israel. The same promise holds true today for all of God’s people. God is a promise-keeper. He always has been, and always will be.

The reality of God’s faithfulness should encourage and fuel your prayer life. Know and believe that God hears and answers all your prayers. Jesus said so, “For your Father knows what you need before you ask him” (Matthew 6:8).

God is sovereign over all of history. He began it. He will end it.

And before you call and make your prayer requests known to God, he will answer.
