Davidisms - Don't Live Under the Circumstances

How are you doing? It’s a question asked daily. Often casually, as a means of saying hello to people. When someone hears this question, what’s the response most often given? “Under the circumstances, I’m ok.” But followers of Jesus should never include the words “under the circumstances” in their response. Why? Because we are never under our circumstances. Our circumstances cannot and should not define us. Nor defeat us. Indeed, the Bible says that we are “more than conquerors through him who loved us” (Rom. 8:37). Followers of Jesus recognize that God remains in control of all of life’s circumstances. Every single one of them. And if we live and reign with Jesus in heaven, at his right hand, right now, we are always living over life’s circumstances (Eph. 2:6). Jesus gives us his strength to accomplish all things (Phil. 4:13). Christians know our God is using evil for good. Pain for his purposes. Turning our tests into our testimonies. Our messes into messages. Living over all life’s circumstances.
