Do you hear them? God’s whispers. Jesus said that his sheep hear his voice (John 10:27). Do you recognize his voice? I’m convinced that the Father and the Son had such an intimate relationship that the Son heard the Father’s whispers all day long. “Go here.” “Go there.” “Talk with him.” “Encourage her.” And Jesus immediately did what the Father told him to do. And as the Son is in the Father, so are we - who are in the Son - also in the Father (John 17:21). This means we, too, can hear our Father’s whispers. His voice. His gentle promptings. Where to go. Whom to serve. Who to love on. Every minute of every day. The key here is being alert. So that you’re able to recognize God’s whispers throughout your day. Listen! Let your Father’s voice guide you. And in obedience, do what he asks you to do. Hear God’s whispers and obey. When you do, you’ll never be the same. And you’ll never be more like Jesus.
