Davidisms - Mighty in the Land

His offspring will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever” (Psalm 112: 2-3). Marilynn and I prayed this prayer regularly and repeatedly over our three children as they were growing up. I continue to pray this prayer regularly over my eight grandchildren. And my friends’ children. And their children. The promise in this Scripture is tremendous. Why? Because it’s a prayer that the children of believing parents - God’s children - will be mighty in the land. That they will rise up and serve God all the years of their lives. With force and determination. With courage and strength. Set apart from the world. Known by their faithfulness. With an ability to change culture for God’s glory. Pray this prayer often. Over your own children. Over your friends’ children. Over all children in the world. That they would love Jesus all their days. Known for their faithfulness. And be mighty in the land.
