Do you know anyone with a big ego? Is it you?

Here’s the best definition of EGO I’ve ever heard: Edging God Out.

Because when you have an ego, it means you think you have all the answers that youwill ever need to navigate life.

It also means that what you don’t need is God.

In Scripture, ego is referred to as pride. And pride - without exception - ravages people. Most often, right before they fall flat on their faces (Prov. 16:18). It happens time and time again. In Scripture. And today.

God will let us operate life on our own. He gave us free will. We make the choice.

But God gives us a stern warning, too. If you choose your ego over him, you’re telling the Creator of all to step aside. He is a gentleman. And he will allow you to live life on your own.

But, you will eventually fall. It’s a certainty.

Instead of edging God out, invite him in. Let him guide your every choice. Your entire life.

When you do, he will guide you home. To be with him.

Forever.
