We do not merely turn over a new leaf, we begin a new life under a new master, God. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Such a sudden change of that magnitude is extremely overwhelming. Where to begin? How? In what area of my life?

It’s why you must begin with one simple step. Do a life inventory. Find one thing that you’re doing – one thing that clearly isn’t working for you – and change it. Just one, no more! You can start working on the next one, and the next one, after you have changed one stupid thing.
