Focus on Faith

Throughout the Bible, we read stories of people who fought anxiety with faith. It is the most potent and powerful antidote to the poison of fear.

Faith in God’s promises will dwarf any mountain we are facing. As Christ-followers, we don’t focus on the size of our mountain, we focus on the size of our God!

Faith is the unwavering belief in God’s presence - that he is with you no matter what the situation may be. God himself gives us this promise in Isaiah 41:10: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Jesus repeats his Father’s words in the New Testament after he is raised from the dead. Right before his Ascension, Jesus speaks his last words to his disciples. Last words before a departure are always very important. They signal the deepest feelings of the heart of the one getting ready to leave.

Jesus peers at his friends and says to them, “I will be with you always, even to the close of the age.” (Matthew 28:20). No matter what we may face in life, we do so with Jesus’s presence.

When anxiety knocks on the door of your heart, send Jesus to answer. When he opens the door - once you’ve placed your trust in him - anxiety is gone. Fear flees. Fear cannot reside in the presence of Jesus.

The spiritual enemy of your soul doesn’t want you to live a life filled with joy and peace. But your Daddy does. Trust in him. Know that Jesus is with you wherever you may go.

Focus on faith. And Jesus’s presence with and in you.

And you will be set free from fear.
