God Is Over You

God is watching over us all.  He is in heaven and sees everything that happens to us.  His eye is on the sparrow and all his other creatures.

In Zephaniah 3:17, we read this promise made to the Jews while they were still in captivity, before their return to the Promised Land: “The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save…he will exult over you with loud singing."  God told his people he would reign over them with singing!

How can God sing over us when we are in a difficult place?  Because he knows that all is in his hands.  Everything.  Even the coronavirus.  The virus with a crown.  Perhaps the crown is to remind us that God is overi t too.

Can you hear God singing over you right now?  Listen carefully.  He is.  It is a song of joy over his purposes for you being fulfilled.  Feel encouraged!

There is nothing that happens to you that God doesn’t oversee and control.  Nothing surprises him.  And God is harmonizing our lives for our good and his glory.

Ponder the preposition over.  A king's throne is elevated on purpose, so he can watch over his subjects.  God is on his throne in heaven.  He knows everything that is happening to you right now.  He is watching over you.

You don’t need to be anxious about anything.
