Davidisms - We Are the Sum Total of All Our Life Choices

Each and every day of our lives we are confronted with a multitude of choices. One decision after the other. Over and over again. How should I respond to my child? Spouse? Friend? What’s worth addressing - or not addressing - with someone? What should I stand up for, and what should I let slide? The list goes on and on. I think it’s safe to say we all need guidance as to how to make the right choice, time and time again. How do we do this? It’s actually quite simple. Just answer this question: “Does this decision honor God?” If it does, do it. If not, don’t. We need to choose wisely with every decision confronting us. For our decisions determine the direction and quality of our lives. “Choose this day whom you will serve. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Josh. 24:15). Joshua knew what he was teaching. We are indeed the sum total of all our life’s choices. Moses said to always choose life (Deut. 30:19). Therefore, let us all choose wisely. Because we are the sum total of all our life’s choices.
