My Personal God - My Portion

The eternal God of the universe wants to be your close, personal friend. He longs to be your rock. Your strength. Your song. He yearns to have a personal relationship with you. The Lord also wants to be your portion (Psalm 119:57). Portion means inheritance - a promise of security that your loving Daddy will take care of you. Protect you. Provide for you. Forever. Our inheritance from the Lord is a grace gift. One which He freely gives to all of His children. Why? Because He claims us as His own. Welcomes us into His family. Adopts us into His kingdom. And adoption cannot be earned. God chooses to adopt His children simply because He wants to become our loving Daddy. To guarantee our portion - our inheritance - in heaven, and to give us something wonderful to hope for, something that’s guaranteed: eternal life with Him. Have you received your portion from the Lord? Your inheritance from your personal God? Say to Him today, “Daddy, thank you for promising me an inheritance. Every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies is guaranteed. I have eternity in heaven with you to look forward to! My sins are forgiven! I will dwell in your house forever!” Your Daddy in heaven has a huge inheritance awaiting you. That’s why you can call him my portion.
