“God can’t steer a parked car.” It’s a hackneyed phrase you’ve likely heard before. The reason behind its staying power? It’s true.

Have you ever tried to steer a parked car? It’s impossible. Without a moving car, the power steering cannot work. The wheel won’t turn to the left or the right. You’re stuck. Exactly where you are. With no ability to change course or move forward.

Do you want to see change in some area of your life? Take the first step. Start moving in the direction God is leading you. He will direct you. His Word says so. “The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way” (Psalm 37:23).

When you take the first step, God’s power steering kicks in. He directs your next step. And the next one. And the next one (Proverbs 16:9).

Keep moving toward the Lord! Let him direct your steps.

And you will eventually arrive at the destination where he is leading you.
