It’s probably no surprise that I learned this one from my dad. Looking back, he was so wise. He demanded a midnight curfew. His justification? Nothing much good happens after midnight. Like most teens, I thought it was too restrictive. But when I became a dad, guess what I did? Yep. The same thing. All of my kids had a midnight curfew. And, as most teens would, sometimes they objected - loudly! But they were always at home at 11:59 pm, or before. My children are grown now. And as they watch this crazy world unfold, they’ve actually thanked me for holding fast to what my dad taught me. And I have a feeling they’ll be passing along the same curfew to their own kids. Godly parents pass down eternal truths to their children, from generation to generation (Psalm 78:4). Especially this one from my dad to me: Nothing much good happens after midnight!
