Is this life all about you? Of course not! We live our lives not only for ourselves, but also for our children. And grandchildren. And great-grandchildren. For generations to come. And it’s the decisions we make now, that will affect future generations. Because we write the stories of our lives one decision at a time. And our decisions determine the direction and quality of our lives on earth. As does obedience or disobedience to God. It’s the single most important choice we make on a daily basis. Which is why it’s essential for our children to see us following Jesus faithfully. So they will want to, too (Ps. 78:6). We are to share our wisdom and experiences with them. To help them avoid harm and dangerous situations (Prov. 27:12). And to pass on the miracles and mighty works of God. To instill in them the wonder of the Lord, his greatness, splendor and majesty (Ps. 145:4). Make wise decisions today. Share them with your children. Your choices today will benefit future generations for years to come.
