Davidisms - The Darker the Night, the Brighter the Light

Have you noticed this world seems to become increasingly darker year after year? Sin, hardship, injustice, violence and poverty all blend together, contributing to the darkness of our day. As Christ-followers, we should be asking this question: What can I do? Here’s the answer: Be the light! Shine brightly for Jesus. Become his light in a dark world. How? Reflect the light of Jesus in you by living your life in such a way that others are drawn to Jesus because of the way you live. The way you serve. The way you give. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world” (John 8:12). As his followers, so should we be. Jesus said so (Matthew 5:14-16). I’ll leave you with this thought. Diamonds shine brightest against the backdrop of black velvet. The dark enhances the diamond’s glorious light. And the same is true for you. The darker the night of this world, the brighter your light for Jesus will shine. Little children sing it this way: “This little light of mine. I’m gonna let it shine!" They’re already learning: The darker the night, the brighter the light.
