Do you know the eternal God of the universe, the One who created everything, wants to be your personal friend? Companion? Ally? He does. He’s a loving Daddy who yearns to be involved in every area of your life. He wants you to walk closely with Him every day. He longs for an intimate, deeply personal relationship with you. Isn’t that amazing? King David wrote of his close relationship with God in the psalms. I want us to spend several weeks closely examining the different descriptors he used to characterize God as being very personal. The first is “my refuge.” “I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge...’” (Psalm 91:2). God is my refuge. My safe haven. A place for retreat when I am in danger. He’s my Daddy whom I can run to whenever I have a need. God wants to be your safe place. Your security. Your identity is protected in Him. No one can ever take that away from you. Never. The Lord is available to you anytime. Anywhere. No matter the circumstances. He wants to fulfill your every need. Whatever your need may be, run to God today. Say, “God is MY refuge.” My personal refuge! It’s God’s promise to you: He will never leave nor forsake you.
