Do you believe the eternal God of the universe wants to be your close, personal friend? Your companion? Your ally? The Lord truly does. He longs for a deeply personal relationship with His friend, you. King David became God’s close friend. When David needed anything, he turned to God: “I love you, O Lord, my strength” (Psalm 18:1). The Lord became David’s strength. And God wants to become your strength, too. Your Daddy in heaven wants you to rest in Him. To stop striving. To stop looking to things in the world for help. But instead, to look to Him - your strength. Why would we look anywhere else when the strength we need is inside us? The Apostle Paul also knew the Lord as his personal God. As the One and only source of Paul’s strength: “I can do all things through him who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). Do you believe the God of the universe wants to be your strength? Your personal God? Your Provider and Protector? The One on whom you steadfastly rely? He does. Therefore, let go. Let God. Release your problems to Him and let Him go to work. Say to the Lord today: “Lord, you alone are the source of my strength. Help me to trust you so deeply that I believe anything is possible with you. You are my personal God!” Then let God’s strength be your strength.
