By David Chadwick Can you guess what employees most want from their employer? A simple thank you. Not more money. Not a bigger office. Not a fancier title. Though that’s what most employers would guess. Numerous studies prove that the top driver of employees’ happiness is for their boss to say thank you. Two simple words, spoken genuinely, are far more valuable than any monetary reward. Think about that. The power of our words. The great wealth found in the words of someone who offers their thanks. Gratitude. Appreciation. Do you readily say thank you to others? Consider the words you use. Let Scripture guide you: “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear” (Ephesians 4:29). What a valuable lesson for us all! For bosses. Parents. Teammates. Family and friends. What does everyone in your life most want from you? A simple thank you.
