God, I’ve got a few questions for you! How often we all say this, if only to ourselves.

There are mysteries in this life. Secret things. Hidden things. Happenings in our lives that we can’t begin to understand. And never will - until eternity (Deuteronomy 29:29).

Suffering is real and often causes people to say at times, “When I get to heaven, God, I’ve got a few questions for you!”

When I hear this, I always point people to the book of Job and his extraordinary suffering. Job had more than a few questions for God! He had dozens and dozens. After expressing them, God appeared to Job and asked, “Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?” (Job 38:4).

Which reminds me: When I appear before God, I won’t be asking God questions. If anything, he will have questions for me!

And then I will simply bow my head in humble adoration that I’m with him forever. Reminded that he controls everything in the universe.

And is always worthy of my praise and worship.
