Make sure God’s Spirit and Word - both together - are in your daily life. Sadly, Christians too often emphasize one over the other. But both are very important for the mature Christian life to occur.

God places his Spirit inside us when we are born again (John 3:3). When our old life dies, Jesus puts his new life in us.

Then the way the Holy Spirit can grow in us is through the study of God’s Word (John 17:17). Our faith increases. Intimacy with Jesus begins.

But do note that we need both the Word of God and the Spirit of God together as we continue walking with Jesus all the days of our lives. It’s the never-ending process of discipleship.

For the Word without the Spirit causes us to dry up. The Spirit without the Word causes us to puff up. But the Word and the Spirit together allow us to grow up.

Commit to keeping God’s Word and Spirit an active part of your faith journey.

When you do so, your faith will not become stagnant, but will continue to grow.
