Davidisms - It's Not How You Drive, It's How You Arrive

I’m not a golfer, but a professional golfer friend of mine taught me this one: It’s now how you drive, it’s how you arrive. He was talking about the importance of the short game in golf. You can have a bad drive off the tee, but if you have a great short game - especially putting - you can end well. Jesus began the good work inside of you. He will be faithful to complete that work in you that he has begun (Phil. 1:6). Until your last breath. If you’re nearing the later years in life? Finish well! Strong! You’re still able to hear Jesus’s words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant” (Matt. 25:23). This alone should be the master passion of every Christian’s life. That’s because it’s not how you drive - begin your life. But how you arrive - finish your life - that counts most in God’s eyes. Finish strong!
