Want to know how to live your life with lasting joy? It’s the second fruit of the Holy Spirit (Gal. 5:22). Jesus said that joy is the eternal birthright for all his followers (John 16:22). If you want Jesus’s joy in you, follow this acronym: J is for Jesus. O is for others. Y is for yourself. Jesus must be first in your life - your King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Others come next. Life’s greatest joy is serving others. Practicing servanthood is how God wants us to live. Yourself. Last is you. “The joy of the Lord is your strength” (Neh. 8:10). Jesus came to earth as a servant putting the will of the Father above all else. And he followed the Lord’s will through his service to others. To you and me. Try following this acronym today and see if the joy of the Lord doesn’t explode in your heart. Jesus wants you to live in joy, not discouragement.
