Have you ever seen a statue erected for a critic? Neither have I. Doling out criticism is easy. And it never costs you anything. People love to criticize and find fault in others. But in the end, it’s the people who stand up for something - for a cause, for truth, for a conviction - who have statues erected in their honor. Who are respected and remembered for years to come for the goodness they brought to others because of their courage to take a stand. Courageous people are the ones most admired. In fact, God commands us to be courageous. He says to his servant Joshua, “ Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go”(Joshua 1:9). God’s command to Joshua is the same for us as well. Be strong! Courageous! Do great things for God, his kingdom and others. For in the end, no one erects a statue to a critic.
