Davidisms - Pray and Walk Away

Scripture teaches us to pray without ceasing (1 Thes. 5:17). There’s an important reason for this command. It disciplines us to give our cares to God. And after that, go about our day. Or said another way: Pray and walk away. We go about our day in childlike faith and trust. Knowing that God hears each and every one of our prayers. And he does indeed respond to them all. In his perfect time and in his perfect way. Sometimes our prayers aren’t answered immediately. But delay doesn’t mean denial. Delay means to keep on praying. Persevering in prayer. Boldly and persistently (Matt 7:7-8). Worldly worries steal our joy and rob us of God’s perfect peace. It’s why God gave us the weapon of prayer. Prayer is a powerful tool. Use it regularly! Yes, pray! With great faith! Then walk away.
