Davidisms: Thermometer or Thermostat?

Thermometer or thermostat?

Your life is one or the other.

A thermometer measures the temperature inside you. A thermostat regulates the temperature outside of you.

That’s how life works as well. You are either a thermometer or a thermostat.

If you are in Christ, you are a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). You are being controlled from the inside/out. Controlled from within by the power of the Holy Spirit. Like a thermometer.

The other option is that you are being conformed to the patterns of this world - with all its evil and corruption—like a thermostat. And this conforming is happening from the outside/in.

Which is it for you? Is the world or the Word making you who you are?

Christ or culture?

Thermometer or thermostat?

Which are you?
