When is the last time you’ve been hurt by someone? Had lies spoken about you? Rumors spread? What did you do? While our first human inclination is to defend ourselves, it’s the very thing we shouldn’t do. It seldom does any good. Because being defensive rarely - if ever - changes someone’s mind. Plus, it most often only exacerbates the anger. So how should we respond instead? By realizing that time and truth travel together. More specifically, we trust God’s timing. We remind ourselves that he oversees all. And in his perfect way and in his perfect timing, he will bring the truth to light (Luke 8:17). We also trust God’s truth. Jesus brought truth into the world because he is truth. He said so: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). Therefore, we can trust God. Always. For the truth to come out. In his time. In his way. Because time and truth travel together.
