It’s November. A month in which people tend to think about gratitude. Mostly due to the Thanksgiving holiday. But as Christ-followers, we are called to practice gratitude daily. Will you do so right now? Take a moment to count your blessings. You’ll find that you have more than you realize. When we take the time to realize the immense privileges the Lord has given us, our hearts should become filled with thanksgiving. But at the same time, we must realize that each of our God-given privileges comes with a responsibility. To steward them wisely. To use them for good. To serve the least and the lost. As Christ-followers, our lives are meant to be lived for the Lord, not for selfish pursuits (Phil 2:3-4). It’s a daily choice. To live in the flesh. Or to live in the Spirit. We live for the Lord when we serve others. When we are responsible stewards of the undeserved gifts and privileges God has given us. When we find a hurt and heal it. When we see a need and fill it. One day we will all give an account before God of our privileges and how we’ve used them for God’s glory while on earth (Rom. 14:12). Let’s make sure that we use our privileges responsibly.
