Davidisms - You Know You're Doing the Right Thing When You Have the Right People Mad at You

Here’s another wise teaching from my dad. We’ve all had someone mad at us at one time or another. It’s inevitable. A result of sinners living in a fallen world. But to faithfully follow Jesus means sometimes we must take a stand on controversial issues. Jesus did. And people didn’t like him because of it. If we follow Jesus, what happened to him will happen to us. He promised such (John 15:20). Generally speaking, the extremes on both sides of an issue aren’t going to agree with a hard stand you take. But take it anyway. And when you are doing the right thing, you will have the right people mad at you. And always remember this profound truth: If you want everyone to like you, you shouldn’t have decided to follow Jesus (Gal. 1:10).
