Davidisms - People Don't Die for a Lie

If you believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ, you must believe in a resurrected Jesus. For if the resurrection is not true, the Christian faith is in vain (1 Cor. 15:14). Here’s one of the most powerful proofs of the resurrection: People don’t die for a lie. Over 500 people witnessed a resurrected Jesus (1 Cor. 15:6). The Apostle Paul even lists some of the witnesses by name, his own name included. Many of whom later underwent harsh persecution. And ultimately, martyrdom. Including Paul. Ever since, unbelievers have claimed the resurrection is fake. Made up. A lie. But here’s the catch: People don’t die for a lie. Human beings don’t willingly suffer excruciating pain, agonizing torture, or experience martyrdom for something they know is a lie. It goes against the very nature of human behavior which is always self-protective. Instead, the witnesses of a resurrected Jesus chose to die for what they knew to be true. They gave their lives as proof that Jesus indeed lives! People don’t die for a lie. That’s why the resurrection is the heart of the Christian faith.
